Dr David Dilley

Dr David Dilley graduated from the University of New South Wales in 1982.
His early medical and surgical training was at Concord (including Plastic Surgery & Burns Unit) Westmead, and Royal North Shore Hospitals in Sydney. He has worked in senior positions in Neurosurgery and General Surgery Units.
He has been in specialist Hand Surgery practice since 1993 after completing orthopaedic training in Sydney and a Hand Surgery Fellowship at the world renowned Christine M. Kleinert Institute of Hand and Microsurgery in the USA. He is a past Lecturer in Orthopaedics at the University of NSW.

He remains actively involved in teaching and keeps up to date with regular attendance at state, national and international meetings. He has lectured at these meetings. Each year he completes the yearly review examination of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.
He is a member of the NSW Hand Surgery Society, Australian Medical Association and the Australian Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons as well as a Fellow of both the Australian Orthopaedic Association and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
Outside medicine his interests include medical history (he has lectured in Istanbul, London and the Australian War Memorial on medical aspects of the Gallipoli campaign); ancient history and languages; swimming and walking.
On Saturdays in summer you will find him umpiring 1st grade cricket and in winter training aspiring umpires. He has umpired Women’s National League and Men’s 2nd XI trials. He continues an active role in cricket/ umpiring administration at local and state levels.
